16 December, Day 2 in Stevenage. Raiding Monkswood Retail Park

We picked Dr H from the hospital at slightly after 9am. Then back to the hotel we went, parked our car and made a beeline for Angelique.

Angelique serves excellent breakfast meals. They are pretty to look at as well. It was the most pretty meal that I have ever had.

We picked the car from Cromwell and sent her back. H gave us presents for the Christmas which were happily received. They were all our favorites! Nothing speaks volumes like food!

I did a household survey and did some preliminary cleaning. After making up a  shopping list for the household, we set off leaving her to rest for the day.

Our only highlight was Monkswood Retail Park. At Boots, we stocked up on some meds, all much cheaper than Singapore. Argos has closed but we managed to get an air fryer for 100 GBP at Curry's.

Home Bargains was at the next retail area which required some walking. There we bought household cleaning items; mops, detergents, and scrubs. It felt like we were on a mission.

We drove down to Asda, topped up the petrol and went in for a simple coffee break. Then it was back to the hotel.

It was 3.30pm. There was no parking to be had in the hotel compounds so we parked along Walkern Rd, a 3 hr allowance with no return for 4 hours. Bummer.

6.30pm. Back at Prestatyn Cl, we came armed with cleaning implements and a spanking new fryer. H had barely woken up and was very patient with her overzealous parents for turning up on the dot.

We drove over to Sala Thong but they were fully booked. In the end, we ate at Misya Meze. It was excellent. I probably learnt to like lamb from Turkish places like this. We had mixed grill, halloumi, lamb kofte for about 50 GBP. It was a heavy breakfast for H before the start of work.

It had been an exhausting day from just shopping alone. I dozed off without changing or brushing my teeth.
